For the past ten months since putting down our old yellow lab, I have been spoiled by only needing to vacuum once a week. No longer have I had to sneak out of my bedroom in the early morning hours to keep him from following me and wanting to be fed.
I can sit down in my favorite chair without constantly getting back up to let him in or out. I have not had to worry about muddy paws, wet snow or dry grass shaken all over the floor. And because he was so well-trained it’s been well over ten years since I’ve worried about things left on the floor getting chewed.
Well, that is all changing – for better or worse, depending who you ask 🙂 )
Christmas came a little early at the House of Hatton and dog days are here again. Our newest addition: Maverick!
I’m sure over time I will have much more to say and stories to share. I’m also quite sure my vacuum will be used a lot more frequently again and everyone may learn (finally) the hard way to pick up their stuff!
But for now I have one happy husband, three thrilled kids and a very perturbed Fat Cat.
