A Whole Year of Things to Say
I can’t believe today marks a year since I penned my first blog post. At that time I had no idea really how to even navigate the WordPress blog site, how often I would write or even if I had anything to write. And to be honest, I still don’t necessarily know from week to week what I might have to say.
But day by day God is continually sanctifying us- growing us in grace in the mundane of our daily tasks, regular routines and normal family life. And, in the more monumental moments, trials, temptations and sin that also marks the normal Christian life. It is ALL OF THAT I have found to write about it!
Therefore, there never seems to be a lack of material if I just slow down to listen to the Word and evaluate what is going on in my heart. For me personally, that has been the biggest blessing of blogging.
It has forced me at times to dig deep to discover what is going on. It has challenged me to put words to thoughts I barely knew were there. It has moved the level of communication with my husband beyond simple discussion of the day’s schedule. It has affirmed me in hearing that something written resonated with you- to know I am not alone in my thoughts. So, thank you for reading the house of hatton. Thank you for your encouragement, comments and at times sharing my posts with others.
What started out as a one-year experiement will continue as I again strive to post at least once a week and above all to be authentic. To keep any masks of pretention off so you see that just because my husband is a pastor doesn’t mean we have it all together. That we struggle and sin and are in desperate need of gospel grace everyday, just like you. It is that gospel grace I seek to bring to bear in the midst of our daily lives.
